Contraindications Of Permanent Makeup

If you have any of the following, you may not be a good candidate for permanent makeup or may require a letter of clearance from your physician.

* Pregnant and/or nursing

* Heart Conditions/Pacemaker/Defibrillator/Mitral Valve Disorder

* Allergic to metal and/or colorant

* Transmittable blood conditions such as HIV and all Hepatitis

* Diabetes or autoimmune diseases 
(possibly eligible with a doctor’s note)

* Prone to keloids 
(dark raised scars, usually hard in texture)

* Ingrown hairs and open bumps/acne on the area of procedure
(injured/inflamed skin cannot be tattooed. a pimple or two in the area is still okay to proceed with however we will not be able to tattoo over it at the initial appointment.)

* Eczema on the area of procedure 

* Psoriasis on the area of procedure

* Dermatitis on the area of procedure

* Undiagnosed rashes

* Blisters or sores on the procedure area
(doctors prescription medication is required before procedure if you have a history of cold sores, for lip tattoos only)

* Under antibiotic treatment or took antibiotics less than 3 weeks from your procedure date 

* Severe Rosacea around area of procedure

* Moles/raised areas on/around the location of procedure

* Thyroid condition
(possibly eligible with a doctor’s note)

* Uncontrolled high blood pressure
(possibly eligible with a doctor’s note)

* Hemophiliac, severe anemia, or healing disorders

* Epilepsy or active seizures

* Taking skin medications such as Accutane, Antasure, or other steroids
(must be off of medication for at least a YEAR)

* Active skin cancer, undergoing or due to receive chemotherapy or radiotherapy
(possibly eligible with a doctor’s note)

* Glaucoma
(possibly eligible with a doctor’s note)

* Using lash or brow growth serums
(hair follicles are hypersensitive and will bleed easily. for eyeliner tattoos, discontinue use 1 week before procedure)

* Taking antidepressant medications
(could interfere with healed results)

* Sunburnt skin on procedure area
(please do not show up to the appointment with an active sunburn on or near the area of treatment)

* Trichotillomania 
(compulsive pulling of body hair; this can cause prominent scar tissue and pigment will not heal evenly/properly)


If you are currently taking any of the following medications you may have excessive bleeding and the pigment MAY NOT retain:

* Accutane
* Retin- A
* Zioptan
* Latisse
* Coumadin
* Clopidogrel (Plavix)
* Xalatan (Iatanoprost)
* Ticlopidine (Ticlid)
* Cilostazol (Pletal)
* Ticagrelor (Brilinta)
* Travatan Z (Travopost)
* Trifusal (Disgren)
* Dipyridamole (Persantine)
* Xarelto (Rivaraxaban)
* Lumigan (Bimatoprost)
* Glaucoma eyedrops
* Savaysa (Edoxaban)
* Pradaxia (dibigatran)
* Eliquis (Apixaban)
* Prasugrel (Effient)
* Vorapaxar (Zontivity)


Please do not stop taking any medications without consulting with your physician.
